Dorothy has been an active member of Zion Church for 30 years. Previously, she has served as President of (the former) Consistory & pastoral search committees. Dorothy is utilizing her spiritual gift of "service" in being the Team Leader of our Zion Church Food Pantry Ministry Team. This includes food pickup, stocking, food distribution, and the administration necessary to make this ministry a success! Donna ws baptized at Zion UCC and confirmed at Trinity (former UCC) Church. She returned to Zion upon her marriage. Donna's son was also baptized and confirmed at Zion Church. Teaching Sunday School is very rewarding for Donna! She enjoys helping young people learn more about the Bible while encouraging them to grow in their faith. She is interested in helping children to pray as well as developing a personal relationship with Jesus.
Evelyn Hoffmeister is a retired schoolteacher. She taught Sixth Grade Social Studies in the Deer Park Schools & retired from there in 1989. She volunteers every other Tuesday at Hoxworth Blood Center on Kenwood Rd. In April she was presented with a plaque for her 2,444 hours of service for helping at the Canteen Station. She has donated 13 gallons of blood at Hoxworth. Eveyln has been an active member of Zion Church since she joined in 1951. Evelyn is currently Co-Chair of Church Women United of Greater Cincinnati. She is also a part of our Stewardship Ministry Team. Her hobbies include reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards, and cheering the Cincinnati Reds on! She enjoys spending time with her daughter, Mary Jo, & her son-in-law, Jeff, as well as her five grandchildren.
Donna has been a life-long member of Zion Church. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Zion (as were her 2 sisters). Her children have also been baptized, confirmed and married at Zion. Zion Church is a vital part of Donna's life. She has served Zion in many capacities: Consistory, as a Deacon, and Elder for many years. In addition, she has servied on two search committees, taught Sunday School for over a dozen years & served as a Trust Fund Trustee. Donna helped to get Zion’s Food Pantry accepted as a Freestore Foodbank partner. She is certified as a Stephen Ministry Leader and began a Stephen Ministry at Zion. Donna says, "I have been blessed beyond measure by this Congregation. I am soon retiring from a career at Procter & Gamble, and hope to spend more time with my family, traveling and doing whatever work God has for me to do."
Harry has been a member of Zion Church for about 60 years; having transferred his membership from Immanuel UCC in St. Bernard where he was baptized and confirmed. Harry's three daughters were baptized, confirmed and married at Zion. Zion Church is Harry's life! Harry was blessed to sing in the Chancel Choir for almost 50 years! He has served on Consistory as a Deacon and Elder for many years. Harry also served as Zion’s representative to the Cincinnati UCC Association for 20 years; serving on the Mission Priority Board six years. Harry was Zion’s representative to the Southwest Ohio UCC Association for several years - serving two years on the Nominating Committee, and two years on the Social & Community Life Committee. After serving the Norwood Food Closet as Director for 20 years, Harry founded Zion’s Food Pantry. Harry worked to have it accepted as a Freestore Foodbank partner. Harry says, "With my wife, Jean, and my three girls - with God’s help - we accomplished all God asked me to do."
Judy White directs the Chancel Choir. Judy is best known for her many years of teaching music at Norwood High School. She also leads the very successful Norwood Community Chorus. Judy is a graduate of Capital University in Columbus, OH.
Lynn is Zion Church's faithful Treasurer and Sunday School Superintendent. Lynn and her family have been a part of Zion Church for generations! In addition to serving the Lord as Treasurer & the Stewardship Ministry Team Leader, Lynn is a creative thinker who is dedicated to our Women's Fellowship, our children, as well as our broader community of Norwood. In October 2006 Lynn was voted one of Church Women United's 10 Outstanding Women of the Year! Lynn works at Federal Credit Union in the greater Cincinnati area.
Angie joined Zion in 1995 and is proud to call Zion 'home'. She is a stay-at-home mom of three children & is involved in many activities with school as well as with ministries at church. Angie also serves on the Christian Education Ministry Team.
Rick graduated from Norwood High School and married Sheri. After Rick completed six years in the Navy they returned to Norwood where they raised their three terrific children: Tiffany, Nicholas and Matthew. Rick has spent the past 30 years working in health care in Facilities Management as a Stationary Engineer. Rick feels incredibly blessed to be part of the Zion UCC family and loves being a member of the Chancel Choir as well as volunteering on several committees. Rick is a member of the American Legion Post 123 and served as Chaplain for seven years. Rick also enjoys cheering for the FC Cincinnati soccer team and above all else spoiling grandchildren Trey, Alice and Findlay.
